Caring. Compassion. World-class care.
Since the fall of 1991, the UNC Liver Transplant Program has successfully cared for more than 700 adult and pediatric liver transplant patients with outcomes above the national average.
At UNC, compassion distinguishes our liver transplant program, with the patient always at the center of our care. Our experienced transplant coordinators and staff establish an intimate rapport with those considering a liver transplant, and provide immediate and ongoing support to both patients and those integral to their recovery.
From the time we are introduced to potential liver transplant patients and their families, through their transition to life outside the hospital, our focus is on easing that journey for all involved.
Backed by the resources of UNC Health Care, our team of dedicated surgeons, hepatologists, interventional radiologists, comprehensive support staff, and leading-edge researchers have built a world-class transplant center with access to the latest techniques and technologies.
